The Wild Horse Sanctuary's Open House

is held each year in August.

Check back here for dates and details!





We'll have:

- A Barn Dance and BBQ

- Entertainment! The performance line-up for the Wild Horse Sanctuary Open House on August 18, 2007 will include both local folks as well as those traveling a fair distance. Musicians: Bruce Barron, guitarist from Redding; Bernice “Gunny” Denny, guitarist and yodeler from Redding; Lloyd Raeg, guitar and mandolin player from Manton; Rick Vagts, fiddler from Chico; Laurel Paulson-Pierce, vocalist and guitar player from Chico; Ray Mitchum, guitarist and vocalist from Shingletown.  Poets:  Jim Cardwell from Oroville; Dave P. Fisher from Reno, Nevada; Randy Rainwater from Red Bluff; Larry Brockman from Redding. The entertainment will begin at 1:15 until 6:00pm.

- Free horse rides for children 10 & under

- Tour the property and go on a wild horse walk

- Silent auction

- Lots of free drawings (Grand Prize of a Weekend Trail Ride)

California's Gold Showcases Wild Horse Sanctuary

 

In the fall of 2005, Dianne Nelson and the Wild Horse Sanctuary were featured on the award-winning PBS program, California's Gold with Huell Howser.  The Wild Horse Sanctuary episode will air on KCET-TV in Los Angeles on Tuesday, October 11 and Wednesday, October 26 at 6 p.m. and again at 12:30 a.m.  The program will be broadcast on other PBS stations throughout the Golden State beginning in October.  Check your local TV listings for the date and time in your area.
